Nestled among towering pines in South Lake Tahoe — minutes from world-class skiing, the crystal waters of Lake Tahoe, and endless alpine adventure.
Our A-Frame cabin sits in a quiet residential neighborhood surrounded by Eldorado National Forest, just south of the "Y" intersection where Highways 50 and 89 meet. Wake up to pine-scented air, walk out the door into nature, and make it to the slopes in minutes.
Soaring wood-paneled ceilings, exposed beams, and warm natural light define the interior. A wood-burning stove anchors the open living area, while a full kitchen, dining space, and cozy loft bedroom make this the perfect basecamp for every season.

South Lake Tahoe averages over 200 inches of annual snowfall. With a dozen ski resorts within an hour's drive and backcountry access steps from the cabin, your winter adventure starts the moment you arrive.
The cabin is centrally located for access to every major resort in the Tahoe basin. Chase powder at Kirkwood, cruise groomers at Heavenly, or explore Olympic terrain at Palisades.
Cross-Country Skiing
The Corral Trail Network and surrounding Eldorado National Forest roads transform into an expansive cross-country playground once the snow flies. Fountain Place Road — accessible minutes from the cabin via Oneidas Street in Meyers — provides a smooth surface perfect for classic and skate skiing. The Railroad Grade trail offers flat, gentle terrain ideal for beginners. Camp Richardson and the Taylor Creek area on Highway 89 offer popular routes with lakeside scenery.
Snowmobiling
The Corral Trail Network area provides access to an extensive motorized trail system in the Eldorado National Forest. Once snow covers the ground, the forest service roads and designated trails become a snowmobiler's paradise with rolling terrain, open meadows, and forested routes. Several local outfitters offer guided tours and rentals for all experience levels.
For those who earn their turns, Echo Summit and Luther Pass — both a short drive from the cabin — are popular touring zones with consistent snowpack and manageable approaches. The Carson Range provides accessible touring with a variety of aspects and elevations. Experienced tourers can access Freel Peak and the ridgeline above Saxon Creek for above-treeline skiing with panoramic views of the Tahoe Basin and Carson Valley.
Sledding & Tubing
The hills along the Corral Trail Network area offer natural sledding terrain when the snow accumulates. For a more organized experience, Adventure Peak at the top of the Heavenly Gondola features a 500-foot tubing hill with magic carpet access — just 10 minutes from the cabin. The meadows around Meyers and Fountain Place provide gentle slopes perfect for family sledding days.
Snowshoeing
The cabin's proximity to the Eldorado National Forest puts miles of snowshoeing terrain at your doorstep. The Corral Trail area, the Railroad Grade trail along Trout Creek, and the meadows near Fountain Place all make for serene winter treks through snow-covered pine forest. For a more dramatic outing, snowshoe to Emerald Bay overlook or the Angora Lakes — both a short drive away.
When the snow melts, Tahoe transforms into a mountain biking, hiking, and lake paradise. The cabin sits at the crossroads of it all — trail networks out the back door, beaches minutes away, and some of the best alpine terrain in the West.
The Corral Trail Network is the beating heart of South Lake Tahoe mountain biking — minutes from the cabin via Oneidas Street in Meyers. Built by TAMBA in partnership with the US Forest Service, it features purpose-built berms, tabletop jumps, rock gardens, and flowy singletrack for all levels.
The Corral Trail system offers miles of forested hiking from flat meadow walks along Railroad Grade to strenuous climbs toward Freel Peak (10,881') — the tallest summit in the Tahoe Basin. The Tahoe Rim Trail passes through the area connecting to panoramic ridge walks.
Fishing
Saxon Creek, Trout Creek, and Cold Creek all flow through the Meyers area holding brook trout, rainbow trout, and brown trout. Trout Creek originates south of Freel Peak and is joined by Saxon Creek in Lake Valley — the Railroad Grade trail provides easy bank access. Creek season opens July 1st; evening dry fly fishing is especially productive.
Dirt Bike & OHV
The Corral Trail Network area is one of the few places in the Tahoe Basin where motorized use is permitted on designated trails. The network of forest service roads and OHV-legal singletrack provides terrain from mellow fire roads to technical descents connecting to an extensive system of backcountry roads in the Eldorado National Forest. Fountain Place Road serves as the main staging area.
Lake Tahoe Beaches
The south shore is home to some of North America's most beautiful freshwater beaches. Pack a paddleboard, kayak, or just a towel — the bluest water you've ever seen is minutes away.
Fallen Leaf Lake
Just 10 minutes from the cabin via Highway 89, Fallen Leaf Lake is a 3-mile-long alpine lake at 6,377 feet surrounded by towering peaks including Mt. Tallac. The lake offers swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, and fishing in a quieter, more secluded setting than Lake Tahoe. Trails connect to Desolation Wilderness, Glen Alpine Springs, and the Angora Lakes — making it a perfect launchpad for a full day of exploration.
The cabin sits minutes from Meyers, a small historic mountain community established in 1851 as a stagecoach stop on the Placerville-Carson Road. Today it's a walkable village at the intersection of Highways 50 and 89 — the gateway to the Corral Trail Network and the southern entry into the Tahoe Basin.
Home to The Divided Sky, a beloved bar and community hub serving organic food with live music since 2002. Grab coffee at Paddle House Brews, stock up at Holiday Market, or catch the weekly Meyers Mountain Market — a certified farmers market with fresh produce, baked goods, honey, live music, and local crafts every Wednesday from June through September at Tahoe Paradise Park.
A 5-minute drive north puts you in the heart of South Lake Tahoe — a vibrant four-season mountain town on the southern shore of North America's largest alpine lake. Restaurants, breweries, and shops line Lake Tahoe Boulevard, and the Stateline casino corridor is just across the Nevada border.
Dining highlights include Primo's for elevated Italian near the Y, Riva Grill for lakeside cocktails and live music, Elements Eatery for fusion fare with lake views, Maggie's for creative brunch and dinner, and McP's Taphouse for 40 beers on tap and live bands. The Heavenly Gondola launches from Heavenly Village with shopping, ice skating, and après-ski energy.
